East Borneo or East Kalimantan has an area of ​​approximately 211,440 Km2 located in the equator between 11344 ‘east longitude and 11900’ west longitude and 4241-225 north latitude. The south is bordered by the state of Sabah / Malaysia. The east stretches a low area of ​​approximately 500 miles along the coast of the Sulawesi Sea and the Makassar Strait, which is the eastern border, while the west stretches the Iban mountain wall and Muller mountains. The east is bordered by the Sulawesi Sea and the Makassar Strait, which is a transaction transportation channel for National and International Cross trade.


 The condition of East Kalimantan consists of lowlands, then hills and ends with mountains. On the west there is a stretch of the Iban and Muller mountains which are natural boundaries with the Sarawak / East Malaysia region. In the south stretches the Meratus mountain range which is the natural border with the province of South Kalimantan. East Kalimantan is covered by dense forests, and parts of the east coast are quite extensive mangrove forests. This East Kalimantan area is influenced by a mixed climate between wet tropical climate and tropical climate.
