Tanjung Puting National Park is one of the leading national parks on the island of Borneo. This national park is well-known as the location of the first orangutan rehabilitation center in Indonesia which was spearheaded by one of the three women who revolutionized primatology studies, Dr. Birute Galdikas. In Tanjung Puting, there are three historic locations for rehabilitation of orangutan, namely Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tanggui, and Camp Leakey, all of which you can visit. This national park has several different ecosystems, home to several endemic and protected endangered species such as Orangutan (Pongo Satyrus), Proboscis Monkey (Nasalis Larvatus), Maroon Leaf Monkey (Presbytis rubicunda rubida), Bear (Helarctos malayanus erysipelas), Deer (Tragulus javanicus) close), clouded leopards (Neofelis nebulosa), and cats (Prionailurus bengalensis borneoensis). We invite you to visit this natural tourism site for 3 days 2 nights by using a traditional wooden boat with comfortable facilities to see the beautiful natural scenery of Borneo and get to know more about the results of a project that had been carried out by Dr. Birute Galdikas since 1971.
