The Central Borneo Guide has been instrumental in supporting local communities and their economic growth. A prime example of this is the project undertaken in Karuing Village between 2020 and 2021. By focusing on the marketing and sale of the village’s renowned stingless bee honey (Kelulut), the project not only introduced a valuable health product to a wider market but also provided a sustainable income source for the villagers. With over 70 packs of honey sold, equivalent to approximately 7-8 liters, the project demonstrated the potential of local products to contribute significantly to the community’s livelihood.

Beyond product sales, the Central Borneo Guide has also been actively promoting tourism in Karuing Village and the neighboring Punggu Alas. By showcasing the unique cultural and natural attractions of these areas, the project aims to attract visitors, generate income for local businesses, and raise awareness of the importance of preserving the region’s environment and heritage.
